Nana spent her formative years in Tema, Ghana, with her grandparents. She is passionate about keeping the authenticity of each dish, to ensure that each bite takes you on a round trip across Ghana – from Accra to Kumasi, from Tamale to Cape Coast! And, most of all, Nana ensures that each dish meets the strictest of quality control tests in the world – he grandmother’s taste buds!

Nana founded Wabena on the need to bring the wide-ranging and culturally-rich cuisine from across Ghana to the UK. Taking the most common ingredients found in West Africa, including maize, yams, plantain, rice, meats and fish, Wabena serves the great Ghanaian fusion, favourite recipes that have powered the black stars of Ghana to football supremacy in Africa on several occasions.

In true WAKIKI traditions, all of Wabena’s dishes are cooked fresh and nothing is ever reheated from frozen, or Nana would be answerable to you know who!
